Tarun Tahiliani Couture 2012 Expo opened yesterday with thirty five heavenly creations from his ‘Jewel Box’ collection. All of which are beautifully presented around a stunning glass backdrop designed to resonate with the collections theme. I’m drooling over the pictures especially the stunner in the third pic and wish I could go to see the styles in person : (

I LOVE the beauty below!

It’s on from the 25th-28th July at DLF Emporio and from 6-7th August at Mehboob Studio Mumbai

Day 68 : Olympic torch Relay : Harrow

25th July 2012

Olympic fever hits Harrow! Wooo hoooo! We had a lovely morning on the Hill- enjoying the sun and soaking up the wonderful atmosphere. By half nine the crowds had truly gathered and we were by some children eagerly awaiting their P.E teacher, Jamie Millard to come running past with the torch. Here’s a few pics!

Meera Sethi : Firangi Rang Bharangi

24th April 2012

I don’t even want to do a massive intro to this post as the imagery speaks for itself – STUNNING. Meera’s work is bold and powerful. She is a master of colour and pattern and her skills are wonderfully displayed in the Firangi Rang Barangi (colourful foreigner) collection. The collection in her words explores ‘the relationship between femininity, dress and hybridity. By combining Eastern and
Western textiles, garments and jewellery, I re-imagine identity across borders. These large acrylic paintings exhibit a fearless use of colour, bold pattern and finely rendered detail. Each is layered with cultural history and personal style. While the surface of these works draw us in, the bodies
that they adorn are barely revealed – an inversion that suggests the role of sartorial expression in creating a sense of self, particularly one rooted in a diasporic, transnational experience.

Label Lust : SALONI

8th March 2012

I’ve been a super fan of Saloni Lodha’s label for a while now and a pic of the gorgeous Karla dress in this weeks Grazia prompted me to blog about the label. Saloni, has spent time living in India, Hong Kong and the U.K and her global upbringing can be seen in her aesthetics. She subtly nods to India in her use of colour, print and traditional techniques and combines with a modern, feminine silhouettes resulting in collections full of gorgeous ultra-wearable must haves. Here’s some pics from her yum A/w 12 collection, I LOVE the leopard print blouse, fuchsia maxi and the stunning coral maxi skirt.

Saloni pictured above

Saloni is keen to challenge the west’s pre-connceptions of Indian clothing being synonymous with sweatshop labour and actively promotes the brand as ‘MADE IN INDIA’. There’s so much respect for craftmanship and traditional techniques in India that ‘MADE IN INDIA’ could and should have the same standing as ‘MADE IN ITALY/U.K/FRANCE’ !!! The label has an ever-growing list of stockists from Le Mill in Mumbai, Bluebird in London and The Webster Miami. Find your nearest stockist here www.salonilondon.com

I will blog about her jewellery as well soon
